Join GSBA for our second Board Chair workshop of 2023. This training will take place in-person only in Cumming, Georgia. Don’t delay, sign up today!

This course will cover skills and knowledge required by board chairs in order to provide leadership to a local board of education. Training topics include school law, effective board meetings, board chair best practices, a legislative update, and more. 

Board members who attend will receive 6 hours of training credit. While this training is focused on the Board Chair role, it is also designed to attract vice-chairs and other board members who are interested in serving in a leadership role. It is open to all school board members to attend. 

A continental breakfast will be served at 8:30am and the program begins at 9:00am. Lunch will also be provided. The training concludes at 4:00pm.

REGISTRATION INFO:

The cost to attend this workshop is $275. Cancellations must be submitted in writing to Leigh Crow, lcrow@gsba.com no later than 5 business days (Tuesday, February 28) before the event and will assess a $70 fee per individual. No refunds will be provided after this date.

LOCATION:

The Board Chair Workshop will be held in Cumming, Georgia at Forsyth County Schools, 1120 Dahlonega Highway, Cumming, GA 30040. Please enter through the main entrance and check in with the front desk. The meeting will be on the 3rd Floor in Room 380. Parking is available around the building.
