2021 GSBA/GSSA Annual Conference

 

 Join us for the 2021 Georgia School Boards Association (GSBA) and Georgia School Superintendents Association (GSSA) Annual Conference at the Renaissance Waverly Hotel in Atlanta! We will once again have a hybrid conference experience, but in-person registration is NOT limited at this time. You can network with colleagues and vendors, both on and offline, from all over Georgia.


COVID19 INFORMATION:

  • Masks are required throughout the hotel and in meeting spaces unless you are eating and drinking.
  • Social distancing will be practiced in each meeting space where available.
  • There will be NO Valet service at the Renaissance Waverly Hotel.

 

REGISTRATION INFO:

Enter your email address above to register for the Annual Conference as well as the Workshop of your choice. PLEASE NOTE: You must register for the conference BEFORE you can reserve hotel rooms. Once your registration is complete, you will receive a confirmation email with a link to the Waverly as well as a list of overflow hotels.

 

Registrations after November 18, 2021 will assess a $70 fee. The cost to attend the conference and pre-conference workshops will increase by $70.

 

On-site registration will be available for a $70 fee.

 

 PLEASE NOTE: There is no need to purchase additional lunch of breakfast tickets unless you are bringing a guest with you. If you need to purchase additional tickets for lunch or breakfast, the fee is $40 per person. 

 

CANCELLATION POLICY:

Both in-person and virtual cancellations must be submitted in writing to Leigh Crow, lcrow@gsba.com, no later than Thursday, November 18, 2021. Cancellations will be assessed a $70 fee. Cancellations will not be accepted after this date.

 

 SUBSTITUTIONS:

If switching from in-person to virtual, requests must be submitted in writing to Leigh Crow, lcrow@gsba.com, no later than Thursday, November 18, 2021.

 

If you would like to substitute a registration from one board member to another, you may do so at any time. Substitutions for workshops may also be made at any time.

 

Pre-Conference Workshops: Wednesday, December 1, 8:30am-4:00pm (all agendas to come)

 

GSBA affords local school board members a great opportunity to fulfill their annual training requirements for the fiscal year in conjunction with the GSBA/GSSA Annual Conference held in Atlanta. This is a convenient way to obtain the necessary credit for annual training (see O.C.G.A 20-2-230). Three excellent programs are available for board members, superintendents, support staff and attorneys who represent local boards of education. Below is a brief description of each workshop with pricing. 

 

E. Freeman Leverett Legal Issues Workshop (December 1, 2021) - $230 (Board Members) & $335 (Attorneys) 
This is one of the most important and prestigious workshops offered annually by GSBA. For over sixty years, GSBA has been the leader in helping local school boards interpret the complexities of Georgia's laws, rules and regulations regarding public education. The E. Freeman Leverett Legal Issues Workshop is the most heavily attended annual workshop offered by GSBA. Participants will receive 6 credit hoursCLE credits are also provided to attorneysLunch is included in this registration fee for in-person attendees.

 
Finance (December 1, 2021) - $230

Hear from superintendents and former board members as they lead this informative workshop. Attendees will gain a better understanding of the budgeting process and the entire financial planning process for school systems. Participants will receive 6 credit hours.  Lunch is included in the registration fee for in-person attendees.

 

Support Staff (December 1, 2021) - $175

Collaborate with fellow attendees at this workshop specifically designed for central office support staff personnel. Hear from experts on best practices, parliamentary procedure, meeting processes and board management. Participants will earn a Certificate of Completion. Lunch is included in the registration fee for in-person attendees.

 

Annual Conference: Thursday, December 2, 8:30am-4:00pm - Friday, December 3, 8:30am-11:00am


GSBA/GSSA Annual Conference - (December 2-3, 2021) - $350 - On November 18, 2021, the fee increases to - $420
