Arkansas School Laws Annotated

2019-20 Edition

The Arkansas School Boards Association (ASBA) is accepting pre-orders for the 2019-20 edition of Arkansas School Laws Annotated.  The 92nd General Assembly produced over 100 Acts that impact K-12 education.  Among these are:

  • Transformation and Efficiencies Act of 2019 (Act 910), which reduces the number of cabinet-level agencies from 42 to 15.

  • An Act to Eliminate Unnecessary References to Regulations throughout the Arkansas Code (Act 315), which clarified that a “rule” is at the state level while a “regulation” is at the Federal level in the Arkansas Code.

  • School Counseling Improvement Act of 2019 (Act 190), which repeals and replaces the Public Student Services Act.  School counselors will be required to devote 90 percent of their time to direct and indirect service to students on student contact days. School districts will be required to have a comprehensive school counseling program.  Failure to comply will result in a violation for the district under the Standards for Accreditation.

ASBA will incorporate these, and other, changes into the 2019-20 edition.  The publication goes beyond Title 6 to encompass laws that intersect with K-12 education throughout the entire Arkansas Code. The book is an invaluable resource to school districts and government officials.  It is also useful to attorneys who work in education law.

To keep costs down, we will not order copies beyond those that are pre-ordered.  Copies are $65, which includes all shipping and handling.  Pre-orders for this publication will be accepted through September 15, 2019.  Payment terms are purchase order, check or credit card.  ASBA accepts Visa, Mastercard and Discover.

Please provide a physical address for each order.  We are unable to track shipments to post office box addresses.  Expect Delivery in November 2019.
