Administrative professionals often feel like they spend 100% of their time taking care of other people’s needs, concerns, and problems, leaving very little time to focus on their own needs. This is your chance to network with work-alike colleagues from across the state - not only learn information and skills to assist you with your duties, but to learn ways that will help you take care of yourself as well.

The 2019 ASBA Administrative Professionals Workshop is a day-long professional development opportunity for administrative assistants, school secretaries, bookkeepers, and others, whose job duties intersect with the work of their school board, superintendents, and other stakeholders. The administrative professional’s duties are vast and often have both practical, legal, and cultural implications for their schools and boards. Their role as the “front line” for school districts is becoming increasingly more vital and primary to the public’s perception of the district.

Please make plans to join us for the 2019 ASBA Administrative Professionals Workshop Monday, June 24, at the Hot Springs Convention Center located at 134 Convention Blvd, Hot Springs, AR 71901. This year’s agenda will cover topics such as:
•    Navigating the Waves of a Positive Workplace Culture
•    A Review of ASBA’s Database and How to Make Updates
•    Taking Ownership and Creating a Positive Workplace Culture
•    Updates and Answers to Current Legal Issues

Registration is $135 per person through June 7, 2019, and $150 after June 7. Non-Member registration is $235 per person through June 7, 2019 and $250 after June 7. Online registration will close at noon on Friday, June 21, 2019. You can also register on-site on the day of the workshop.

Requests for cancellation must be in writing to kivy@arsba.org. Cancellation requests received through June 14, 2019, will be refunded at 100 percent. Cancellation requests received after June 14 will be refunded at 50 percent. No refunds will be made for cancellations after June 21, 2019.

On the day of the event, registration begins at 7:45 a.m. A full buffet breakfast will also be available at 7:45 for registrants. Training begins at 8:30 a.m. and dismissal is at 3 p.m.  Lunch is included in the registration cost.

Room Reservation Procedure: A block of rooms has been set aside at two hotels adjacent to the Convention Center for those wishing to arrive the evening before the workshop (June 23rd).

For the Hotel Hot Springs, visit their website and click on the “Book Today” button. This will take you to the “Reservation” page where you will enter your arrival and departure date. All reservations must be guaranteed with a major credit card or an advance deposit.
