2019 ASBA School Law Seminar

Registration is open for the 2019 ASBA School Law Seminar. The Law Seminar is an opportunity for school board members, superintendents and school attorneys to hear presentations on significant school law issues and hot topic legal issues related to education. Among the topics on the agenda this year will be a session by Attorney Cody Kees entitled Cell Phones: Search, Seizure and Sex Predators. Attorney Abtin Mehdizadegan of Cross Gunter Witherspoon and Galchus' session will be Garnishments: School Districts and the (Inadvertent) Unauthorized Practice of Law. WHEN: Tuesday, February 12, 2019
Check-in and continental breakfast begin at 7:45 a.m. The Seminar starts at 8:30 a.m. and ends at 3 p.m. (lunch is included).

TRAINING HOURS: School board members will earn six hours of boardsmanship training credit. Continuing Legal Education for attorneys will be applied for through the Arkansas Continuing Legal Education Board.

REGISTRATION: Registration is $175.00 per person through Tuesday, January 29, 2019, and $195.00 after January 29, 2019. Requests for cancellation must be in writing to kivy@arsba.org. Cancellation requests received after February 5, 2019 will be refunded at 50 percent. There will be no refunds for cancellations after Monday, February 11, 2019.  Online registration will close Monday, February 11th at noon. HOTEL RESERVATIONS: A block of rooms has been reserved for conference participants at the rate of $159 per night (single or double). The special room rate will be available until January 21, 2019 or until the group block is sold-out, whichever comes first.
